New from the US Battery Manufacturing Company is the
8DHCXC (8D – Case Type, HC – High Current, XC – Extreme Capacity), providing a cost effective flooded type replacement option for large 8D deep cycle requirements in Marine, Solar and RV applications, but with the assurance of quality that comes from the USA’s leader in flooded battery technology.
US Battery’s Diamond Plate technology allows the
8DHCXC to provide higher peak capacity, improved energy density, enhanced rechargability and improved cycle life over other deep cycle flooded type equivalents.
New Products - Lifeline GPL-30HT, GPL-L16T & GPL-L16-2V
The Lifeline range has been expanded with 3 new additions to the line-up. As is consistent with the broader range of high quality AGM technology Lifeline batteries, the
GPL-30HT,
GPL-L16T &
GPL-L16 2V are purpose built for unparalleled performance in deep cycle applications in the Leisure, Marine, Solar and RV markets.
The
GPL-30HT is capable of delivering 700cca for starting applications and 150-minutes (@C20) of reserve power for auxiliary loads. It features an 89 type case and marine terminals.
The
GPL-L16T and
GPL-L16 2V share an L16 case type with Offset threaded insert terminal configuration and provide 400Ah at 6V and 1200Ah at 2V respectively.
Introducing the new Poweroad Brand of Powersports Batteries

New Product - TJS-M8 Compact Starter Pack
Federal are proud to announce the release of the TJS-M8 ultra compact vehicle jump starter pack, designed specifically for small to medium domestic passenger vehicles.
Weighting in at only 3.9
kgs and with a form factor about half the size of a 3L milk bottle, the TJS-M8 is simply the smallest and most convenient vehicle jump starter available. Belying it's tiny size is a unique battery which provides 4-5 times more power than regular
VLRA batteries used in other larger jump starter packs.
It's minimal form factor and weight make it the ideal companion for the boat, caravan or car to provide convenience and piece of mind without the headache normally
associated with lugging a conventional starter pack with you.
A
USB power supply is provided for charging MP3 players, phones,
ipods and other electronic accessories on the go as well as a powerful
MLA (Multi-LED Array) spotlight capable of running
continuously for up to 60-hours on a single charge. The TJS-M8 is supplied with a shoulder strap and both 12VDC and 240VAC chargers.
New Products - DIN Fit Amaron Calcium Silver Starting Series
Federal Batteries have recently added three new DIN fit batteries to the
Amaron Calcium Silver Starting range. These DIN fit options are becoming more and more prevelant in the Australian market in all passenger vehicle segments.
DIN74 574106069 is a tall DIN65L case size with 690CCAs of staring current and 74Ah/131mins RC capacity. Terminals are Right Hand Positive SAE type and dimensions are 278mm(l) x 175mm(w) x 190(h) This ideally fits new Holden Commodore and Captiva without having to use a spacer.
DIN80 580122073 is a DIN77 case size with 730CCAs of starting current and 80Ah/143min RC capacity. Terminals are Right Hand Postive SAE type and dimensions are 315mm(l) x 175mm(w) x 175mm(h). This suits many of the larger euro cars, including the Audi Allroad, etc.
DIN85 585111077 is a DIN85L with 770CCAs of starting current and 85Ah/147 mins RC capacity. Terminals are Right Hand Postive SAE 353mm(l) x 175mm(w) x 175mm(h). This fits larger Mercs, BMW and many other Europeans applications.

Deka Powersports - Weighs next to nothing, Starts just about anything
When Peter Hennessey of Road & Race Performance in Sydney approached us looking for the ideal starting battery to suit his freshly completed and fully race prepared BMW racecar we were more than happy to assist.
The car has been stripped and meticulourly built from the ground up to be as strong, tough and most importantly light as possible with carbon fibre used extensively throughout the cabin and engine bay to keep weight to a minimum. The car also runs an angry high compression M-Division engine capable of putting down more than 300hp at the treads, and needless to say requires a fair bit to kick into life.
With size, weight, safety and cabin mounting paramount considerations, we suggested Peter try (and were keen to see whether) a tiny Powersports starting battery would be up to the task. While designed for use in the motorcycle market, these batteries never fail to amaze and have proved themselves in a league of their own when it comes to starting high compression big-cube V-twins.
Now wrapped and running a tiny 7kg
ETX16 in his BMW, Peter reports that the tiny Powersports starts the big donk first time, every time and provides him an advantage on the track. Peter reports "I am now carting around much less dead weight in the car and the smaller battery also recovers faster and presents a lighter load on the alternator during the race. In this competitive category every little bit helps!" Peter is already getting attention in the pits from other competitors who notice his lightweight advantage with a keen eyed, adding "I don't know how much longer it will be my advantage, but that's life".
